KAILASHAHAR, May 21 (TIWN): The ideology of Ramakrishna Mission and Communist Party of India (Marxist) CPI-M is similar, only the paths are different, said Chief Minister Manik Sarkar while addressing in a programme organized by Ramakrishna Mission at Ramakrishna Ashram in Kailashahar on Thursday.
Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said that the ideology of Ramakrishna Math and Mission consists of the eternal principles of Vedanta as lived and experienced by Ramakrishna and expounded by Swami Vivekananda, he added.
One of the important contributions of Ramakrishna is the reestablishment of the ideal of God realization in the modern world. In a world in which people’s faith in traditional religions has been considerably reduced by the relentless attack of the forces of atheism, materialism and scientific thinking, Ramakrishna established the possibility of having direct experience of transcendent Reality, Sarkar mentioned.
Ramakrishna’s emphasis on truthfulness and renunciation of lust and greed has given a great boost to moral life in modern times, Manik said.
But quite interestingly General Secretary (GS) of Ramakrishna Mission Swami Suhitananda Maharaj described Chief Minister Manik Sarkar as the holy man.
Minister for Industries & Commerce (including IT) Tapan Chakraborty and other dignitaries were present in the programme.
