UDAIPUR, May 20 (TIWN): Tripura Government Employee Association (TGEA) Secretary of Maharani Area, Maran Das (42) was brutally attacked by CPI (M) committee member Shuresh Bhowmik of Maharani Area on Tuesday night at Lakhpati area, said sources.

Detailing about the situation, sources further informed that Maron Das was on his way to attend a marriage ceremony at Lakhpati area when he met  Shuresh Bhowmik. Finding victim Das alone Shuresh suddenly attacked him with his torch and left him seriously injured.

Finding the situation critical, the local peoples of the area immediately called the Radhakishorepur Police station, said sources.  The police further interrogated the situation and penned down the detail of the incident. Later on, Police arrested Suresh, further enhanced by sources.

When asked about the reason behind the attack, Suresh alleged that his son is among one of the 10, 323 teachers who were recently employed. He has been asking Das for several days for transferring his son to any nearby schools but the process has been delayed. Therefore, losing his patience he suddenly attacked Das.

According to sources, injured Das has been taken to the District Hospital for his treatment.
