AGARTALA, May 19 (TIWN): Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), the youth wing of the ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIÂ-M) on Tuesday organized a 15 minutes of “Chakka Jam†from 10 am to 10:15 am all over the state.
The “Chakka Jam” was observed in 19 sub-divisions of the state. In Agartala the “Chakka Jam” was observed in five places namely Nagarjala, Durga Chowmuhani, Radhanagar, Old Motor Stand and Chandrapur ISBT.
DYFI state secretary Amal Chakraborty said that “When the international crude prices were low in the international market, the government did not pass on the benefit to the common man. And now that the international prices are increasing, it is increasing the crude prices.”
The union government has hiked the petrol price many times. With the increase in fuel prices, the cost of all essentials and goods would automatically go up. It would further burdened the common people, he added.
He further added that the DYFI urged the common people to raise voice against the Modi-led government and its anti-people policies. The organization also asked its workers to organize state-wide agitation against the anti-people decision by the BJP government.
