AGARTALA, May 3 (TIWN): Mischief mongers set one car bearing number TR01-A-3050 on fire which was parked outside a house in Ramnagar Road no. 2 in the early hours of Sunday morning under Ramnagar Out Post.
The incident was reported at around 3.50 a.m. One of the complainant and car-owner, Surajit Das informed the police about the incident.
Residents, who noticed the fire, alerted the police and the fire control room. But before the police could reach the spot, the car was gutted.
“We are investigating the case and we are hope full that the culprits will be soon be arrested”, said a police officer.
Earlier, on March 12 miscreants set ablaze four four-wheelers and a auto rickshaw at Kalyani under East Agartala Police Station. At about 3.30 am, some miscreants, started setting ablaze five cars parked on the streets in Kalyani. The miscreants set ablaze a newly purchase Chevrolet, Maruti 800, Hyundai icon, Maruti 800 and an auto rickshaw.
All the vehicles suffered partial damage, said police. According to police, some miscreants encircled the cars and torched it. “Soon after the cars were in flames, miscreants fled from the spot.
