AGARTALA, April 16 (TIWN): The driver of one loaded truck of a transport company carrying goods worth Rs. 30 lakh was caught red handed by police of Churaibari Police Station when the driver of the loaded truck tried to flee away without paying entry fee at Churaibari gate on Tuesday night.
According to sources, a 10 wheeler truck of Sugam Transport Carrier bearing number NL-01-4219 crossed Churaibari gate without paying entry fee when the gate was open.
Immediately Officer-in-Charge of Churaibari Police Station Jayanta Karmakar followed the truck and detained the truck at Kherenguri area which is 5 Km away from Churaibari gate.
After that police handed over the truck to Sale Tex department. The truck was carrying retail items like medicine worth Rs.30 lakh which were taxable items, the source added.
