AGARTALA, April 14 (TIWN): Minister for Co-operation, Fisheries and Home (Fire service), Khagendra Jamatia holds the responsibility of the Chief Minister for the next 9 days. Mr. Jamatia holds the responsibility as Manik Sarkar left the State to attend the 21st Party Congress of CPIM.

Talking to TIWN, Mr. Jamatia told that it was a tradition to take over the charge when Chief Minister is not present in the State.However Minister had expressed delightedness after taking the Charge. Shri Khagendra Jamatia - He was elected from Krishnapur (ST) assembly seat and hold portfolio in Tripura state ministry.

After holding the charge as Fishery minister, State has taken up a number of measures for the development of the lake to increase fish production. The production of fish in the state was 2100 kg per hectar during the current financial year while it was 1280 kg during the last financial year. It is to be mention that the charge of Khagendra Jamatia is alike as the movie Nayak where Anil Kapur holds the responsibility of CM for one days and change the entire situation of the State.
