AGARTALA, March 5 (TIWN): BJP, the world’s largest Political Party is rapidly progressing in North Eastern State Tripura. Bharatiya Janata party at present has more than 1.5 lakhs members in Tripura, said party’s state president Sudhindra Dasgupta whether three years ago the BJP had only 10,000 members.

Dasgupta also said that the membership drive started on January 2015 and has ended on March 30,   As per the record of March 25, BJP has already 1.5 Lakh members in the state and he was hopeful of touching 2 Lakh membership mark during the ongoing membership drive. Many congress leaders including MLAs are willing to join BJP.

It is to be mentioned here that North Tripura is more advanced in this regard.  Dasgupta also said, “BJP was really getting very good response in North Tripura.”

It is very necessary for a state like Tripura to have alternative parties. After the 8th Tripura Legislative Assembly, the state is running by the same government. The opposite Congress party is also failed to bring any effect. In this situation the first growing of BJP membership is acceptable which might force the contemporary political leaders to think.
