KAILASHAHAR, April 3 (TIWN): Following the poor quality construction of Irani main road resentment is prevailing among the residents of Irani at Kailashahar sub division. The negligence of State Government in proper construction of roads appears to be night mare for the people. Most of the road was engaged with stone chips and cements, which appears as a leading cause of deadly accidents.
According to sources, though huge amount of money are being invested for this purpose, a greater amount is being looted by the corrupt officials. Frequent road accidents are a daily routine. It's not just common motorists who are facing a lot of inconvenience due to bad roads the transporters too are facing a lot of hardships.
The locals alleged that, an engineer of Rural Development Department Subasish Nath was assigned as implementing officer for this construction. But he does not visit the construction site regularly handing over the responsibilities to a subcontractor, they said.
The poor road conditions have increased the vehicle maintenance costs of city transporters as compared to their counterparts in state which resulted in the cause of accident Despite that according to some drivers and bike riders, the repairing works and construction of roads in dismal condition by Public Works Department (PWD) also causing few road accidents while making of road dividers by using ropes on the most crowded city roads from the traffic police department are similarly causing number of road accidents as well.
