AGARTALA, February 22 (TIWN): The body of Saikat Mukharjee, who was found dead near a hotel in Agartala on February 20, was cremated on Saturday, with the family members arriving here at the capital city getting an alarm of their son Saikat’s dead. Besides, the police here have failed to detect clues behind the dead of Saikat Mukharjee. Police has found no individual for interrogation in regard of the incident.
A body was found dead in a hotel backyard here at Maharajganj Bazaar on February 20, and police haven’t ruled out murder. The man was identified as Saikat Mukherjee, a medical representative. He was a resident of Kolkata. According to police the deceased checked in at the hotel on Thursday. However following the incident the family members of Saikat arrived here at Agartala from Kolkata on Saturday and cremated the body of Saikat in Agartala. According to the family members Saikat was much impulsive at his home.
It is mentionable here that during the preliminary investigation of the police here it was ruled out that Saikat died due to high blood pressure and he was drunk during the time of his death. Police said Saikat fell from his hotel room as he was drunk and died falling on the ground on the backyard of the hotel room. But the mysterious death of Saikat has triggered a massive sensation among the common mass, while the Police is yet in dark in regard of the incident. The police here have failed to detect single clues related to the death incident. The police also failed to get any individual for interrogation. The body of Saikat was found to be attired with cement during his death, while the police find no clue in this regard.
It is also to be mentioned here that if Saikat has fallen from his hotel room and died, according to the police than how come his body was found to be attired with cement? Beside, no injury mark was found from the body. Therefore the incident has triggered a sensation with the police found to have played a negligent role in regard of questioning the hotel manager, even though the sniffer dog of the police entered in the hotel room during the investigation process. However it would be wise enough to comment here that the negligence role has come under limelight with the police washed their hand from the case.
