AGARTALA, February 21 (TIWN): Fire engulfs today at Agartala IGM Hospital eye department ward, with the patients narrowly escaped from the fire. The incident occurred on 5:45 pm today. According to the police, no damage has been found following the fire.
The fire originated from a short circuit at the eye departmental ward today, said police.
However but it is mentionable here that the Agartala IGM hospital new complex building faces several censure since after it started functioning. The newly build hospital has no proper ventilation system with the patients admitted at the hospital stands at risk in regard of any fire incidents.
Tripura Chief Minster inaugurated the newly constructed 320 bedded six storied block in Indira Gandhi Memorial (IGM) hospital, at Agartala on November 19. The six storied building is equipped with all kind modern medical facilities. Meanwhile, the opposition Congress along with the common mass of the state has been criticizing the state government for grossly neglecting the health care services of the state.
