Agartala, February 21 (TIWN): 51 Madrasa schools are operating under Grant-in-Aids scheme. In a recent reply in the State Legislative Assembly, it is informed that under SPQEM scheme, 169 Junior Madrasa schools are operating. Whereas 16112 studies were enjoying the facility of Madrasa schools.
At present, two types of Madrasa schemes are functioning in the State:-
1. Grant-in-Aided Madrasas:-

Status of Grant-in-Aided Madrasas (Class I-XII):-
Number of Fazil (HS) Madrasas (Class I-XII) 03.
Number of Alim(High) Madrasas (Class I-X) 03.
Number of Senior Basic Madrasas (Class I-VIII) 05.
Number of Junior Basic Madrasas (Class I-V) 40.
2. Whereas, in centrally sponsored SPQEM Madrassas (All are Class I-V):-
Total no. of Madrassa 129
No. of existing teachers 379
