Khowai, February 20 (TIWN): Three culprits of Kailashahar couple attack incident, who were arrested yesterday from a jungle of Vidyabill area adjacent to Indo-Bangla border, were produced before the court today.

Police have produced the culprits before court seeking 3-day police remand but the court sent them to 14 days judicial custody.

After a long chase, police of Khowai police station led by SDPO Jyotishman Das Chowdhury yesterday netted three youths- Rintu Debbarma of Vidyabill, Probendra Debbarma of Behalabari and Raja Debbarma alias Arkhojit of Baijalbari from a jungle of Vidyabill area adjacent to Indo-Bangla border under Champahour police station in connection with brutal attack on couple at Lalcherra on February 17.

The injured girl was identified as Tama Debbarma, resident of Ampura and the youth was identified as Tripal Kalai who used to stay as paying guest at Sankar Majumder’s house in Lalcherra.

Reportedly three youths including Raja covering faces with black cloths entered into Tripal’s rented house and brutally attacked the duo with sharp cutting weapon (dao) about 8 pm on February 17.
