Agartala, Feb 15 (TIWN):Chief Minister Manik Sarkar while addressing in legislative assembly recently claimed, Tripura is one of the corruption free state of the country not a single minister of his cabinet involved with any kind of corruption.
Whereas in a written reply to a question asked by congress MLA Jiten Sarkar, chief minister said in last three fiscal year cases of corruption have been registered against 63 government officials in various police station. In 2012 -13 case registered against 18, 2013 -14 case against 23 and till 31 st January 2014 -15 case against 22.
According to information cases of corruption against government official is on rise every year. Now question arises after seeing the current upward trend of corruption how can Sarkar say, the state is one of the corrupt free of the country.
From panchayat to top level there are reports of corruptions at every level of state administrations. After the multicrore scam of Bishalghar RD block, every now and then new reports of corruptions surfaces in different blocks and gram panchayats.
The government arranged full proof security at Audit Department so that no report of special audit leaks out. Director and Deputy director of the department already been removed by the government, in place officers close to Melarmath have been given appointment. All kind of special audit of blocks reportedly to be halted by the government.
