KAMALPUR, FEB. 15, (TIWN): Kamalpur PWD(R & B) lost its transparency in different works due to rampant corruption, embezzlement and lower quality. In last one and half years, lots of maintenance works done in a hurry and expensing huge amounts in every case found very little effective. And the Executive Engineer Partha Chakraborty and SDO Sushen Bhattacharjee are pocketing huge money in every work.

 For last one and half years Kamalpur Division of PWD(R & B) sanctioned and implemented lots of maintenance works. The maintenance works of roads included carpeting, metaling, fill up of ditches etc works were done at random. The quality of works were so poor, that almost each work was done twice or even thrice during the period. A highly placed source of the Division informed that, in maintenance works only more than 50 lakhs of rupees were spent, which brought no permanent result. But the Executive and the SDO pocketed huge money from every work. To keep the flow of money intact, the Division even not deployed any work assistant or work supervisor at the sites. As a result, the contractors easily degraded the quality and pocketed huge money. A probe into the division would surely unearth much embezzlement. But who would do that?
