CHARILAM, Jan 17 (TIWN): Tipra Motha supremo and grandson of Tripura’s last king Bir Bikram Manikya — Pradyot Debbarman on Saturday bid for monarchy’s restoration in Tripura. Addressing an event in Charilam organized by Kshatriya Samaj, Debbarman said so, appealing to the Tiprasa community to stay united.
He said he will give back the rights to the “kshatriyas” (soldiers) and King Bir Bikram Manikya’s kingdom will be returned to the people.

“Don't worry. I am there. One day I will give you all your rights,” he said. “This is not just a speech. This is not politics but this is about the community and its future.”
“Who was Maharaja Bir Bikram? He was the king of Tripura. But today someone else is the king. Keep thansa (unity) up. Again, Tripura has to be a Kingdom,” he added.
