AGARTALA, Oct 27 (TIWN): A Bangladeshi woman and an Indian man were apprehended by police in Khowai's Mahadebtilla area for allegedly crossing the border illegally.

The woman, a resident of Khagrachari in Bangladesh, reportedly entered India through the barbed-wire fence in Shilachuri four to five days ago.

The police arrested Rochona Tripura, and further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the border crossing.

This incident comes amid reports of another Bangladeshi woman being intercepted in Mekhliganj, Cooch Behar, while trying to enter India to reunite with her lover.
