AGARTALA, Aug 19 (TIWN): “How could you finish the work fast now?” asked Minister Sushanta Chowdhury to the officials who were present on the spot in Madhab Bari area after the Minister came out of his convoy to address a prolonged traffic jam issue. The Minister was on his way to Jirania and was stuck in a traffic jam caused by tree-cutting works. It’s not clear if the tree collapsed or for road expansion they were cut, but it created heavy traffic pause there because of the ongoing works and tree cutting machine that blocked the passing of vehicles.
For hours, the road was blocked because the operators were still working on it. Chowdhury got out of his vehicle and started observing the work.
The Minister was also spotted advising the police officer present there, asking why the big machine was kept carelessly, which had blocked the entire road.
It was observed that within a few minutes, the road was cleared and vehicles started passing. The Minister’s presence sped up the work, proving, observation methods, which also known as "micromanaging" in workplaces, are actually more useful to run an office more efficiently.
After the road was cleared, the Minister commented to the on-duty police official, “How long did it take? Till now, they were just passing times, ignoring the public suffering who remained stranded for long.”
