AGARTALA, Aug 18 (TIWN): A heart-wrenching scene unfolded at Bishramganj Hospital, where a father, Rupa Mia, struggled to get his two children vaccinated against rabies due to a severe shortage of syringes. The children, Yasminkhatun (11) and Ramadul Islam (6), were bitten by dogs and were brought to the hospital for vaccination.
Despite waiting for hours, Rupa Mia was unable to get syringes from any of the local medical stores. The hospital authorities informed him that they didn't have syringes in stock. The desperate father roamed around the hospital and medical stores, pleading for help, but to no avail.
Rupa Mia, a daily wage earner, expressed his frustration and helplessness to the media, appealing to the state government to ensure the availability of syringes in hospitals. The incident highlights the need for adequate medical supplies in hospitals to provide timely treatment to patients.
