AGARTALA, Aug 15 (TIWN): Tripura Congress MLA Gopal Roy on 79th Independence Day of India slammed the BJP party, calling its predecessors as British’s helpers.

“BJP’s mother bodies and VHP helped the British against India,” stated Roy on Friday.

“BJP was born in 1980 and that’s why it’s a baby party for India whereas Congress freed India from the British,” said Roy.

“But BJP’s previous bodies like VHP had no role to play in India’s independence. Rather, they helped the British. So, they were HELPERS OF BRITISH,” he added pointing his finger and raising his voice.
