AGARTALA, Aug 15 (TIWN): Tripura Opposition Leader Jitendra Chowdhury has sensed that the Supreme Court’s step into the SIR cases is a positive outcome of the people striving to restore the transparent voting system. Reacting to the Supreme Court’s hearing and temporary decision in the case, Chowdhury said, “Multiple cases were filed in the Supreme Court against Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and the Supreme Court directed the Election Commission to make the SIR more transparent and give access to the people if they know about this. The Supreme Court has given proper guidelines for that.”
“So initially it appears that this is a very positive step that has been taken by the Supreme Court of India,” he told the media.

“The government’s mindset is exposed. The urgency of dismantling the voter list a few months ahead of the election is expressed through the government’s attitudes and ECI’s response in the Supreme Court,” he said.

“However, even though the Supreme Court has asked the ECI to finish the task by Aug 18, we have to wait to see their ultimate action,” added Chowdhury.
“Meanwhile, the people who were declared dead appeared in Delhi,” commented Chowdhury.
“Now Dog Babu and Cat Kumar like names are also appearing in Bihar !! With this, Supreme Court’s inference truly has aroused a hope, at least,” Chowdhury told the media.
