AGARTALA, (TIWN):A disturbing incident unfolded at GB Hospital, Tripura's primary referral hospital, where journalist Bhupal Chakraborty was assaulted while gathering news.
The incident occurred at the hospital's Patient Welfare Society medicine store, which was established to provide affordable medication to patients.
According to eyewitnesses, a customer was allegedly mistreated by the store staff when trying to purchase medicine. When Chakraborty attempted to cover the story, a person inside the counter snatched his mobile phone and refused to identify himself. The journalist later filed a complaint with the NCC police station in Agartala, naming the accused as Tapas Pal.
The incident sparked outrage among the journalist community, raising concerns about the safety of journalists in sensitive areas like hospitals.
