AGARTALA, Aug 14 (TIWN): Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Wednesday at Krishi Bandu Center inuragation, in Chandipur said that the BJP-led State Government thinks about the future and plans for what will happen after ten years. Citing underground cables and new power stations/sub-stations, Nath claimed that the number of such projects has exceeded, and the government is focusing on overall development.
The Power Minister lamented that despite the government's efforts, a section of the public is not paying their electricity bills.
"Who is making hospitals? The government. Who is building markets? The government. Who is making roads? The government. But it's been observed that many people who are expected to pay their bills are not paying," he said.
"Only 36% of people in Kailashahar pay their bills," Nath claimed. "That means 64% of people don't pay bills. As a result, common men suffer. Many people also steal electricity through hooklines, and people don't even bother to complain."
