AGARTALA, Aug 14 (TIWN): (TIWN): In a significant breakthrough, Jatrapur police recovered 440 Nokia mobile phones valued at approximately Rs 7 lakh on Wednesday. The phones were found abandoned in a box in the jungle near a godown in South Maheshpur, along with a luxury car bearing registration number TRO7E0466.
According to OC Siti-Kanta Bardhan, the police received a tip-off about a suspicious vehicle speeding towards the south after crossing Naga Point on the Sonamura-Belonia road. The police and chased the vehicle, but the occupants fled after abandoning the car and throwing the mobile phones into the jungle.
The swift action of the police has been praised, with many hailing it as a significant success for the Yatrapur police station. The incident highlights the police's proactive efforts to curb crime and recover stolen goods in the area.
