AGARTALA, Aug 12 (TIWN): Three individuals have been arrested in a murder case in Tripura, sparking tension and raising questions about the involvement of political personalities in the heinous crime. The incident has led to concerns about the quality of political leadership. Kana Debnath Das (45) has been missing since July 28. A police complaint was lodged, but she could not be found. On Tuesday from near Belonia CMO office, her body was found in a decomposed condition.
Police had already started an investigation, and her husband Raju Das was the prime suspect. After interrogating him, two more persons were arrested – Dulan Das (28), resident of Belonia Ramthakur Para and Mohammad Mia (35), resident of Belonia Muslim Para.
Dulan Das is a Trinamool party member and was also an election candidate in the recently held municipality poll. Mohammad Mia is also a Trinamool activist.
The victim’s 14-year-old daughter identified her mother’s dead body.
As per the primary investigation, it was known that Raju Das paid Rs. 50,000 to the contract killer Dulan Das.
According to primary information, Priti Debnath went out of her home after receiving a phone call, and she was brought to the Kashari forest area. It’s not known if she was kidnapped to bring her there or if she went there herself. Then, Mohammud Mia beheaded her with a meat-cutting chopper by striking from back..
