Teliamura, July 28 (TIWN): A group of Rega workers staged a protest in front of the Hawaibari Gram Panchayat office in Teliamura RD Block, demanding payment of their pending wages. The workers alleged that despite completing their work nearly 6-7 months ago, they have not received their wages.
The Block Development Officer (BDO) of Teliamura RD Block, Biplab Acharyya, visited the protest site and held discussions with the workers. According to the BDO, technical issues have delayed the payment of wages, but efforts are being made to resolve the issue soon.
However, some protesters expressed skepticism about the government's promise to pay their wages, alleging that a vested interest group is working behind the scenes to sabotage their efforts. The protesters demanded that the administration take immediate action to pay their pending wages.
