The incident occurred during the "Kala Miah Prize Money Knockout Football Tournament 2025" organized by Jibon Sathi Welfare Society at the Yubarajanagar Secondary School field.

 

Sub-Inspector Biswajit Das from Dharmanagar police station arrived at the field and allegedly threatened to stop the match despite prior permission being granted to the organizers. Local residents claimed that there were no legal issues with the permit, and the SI's actions were an unnecessary display of authority.

 

However, local MLA and tournament patron Sailendra Chandra Nath intervened, and after protests from the villagers and the MLA, the SI was forced to back down, allowing the match to proceed as planned.
