Agartala, July 17 (TIWN): Congress leader Ashish Saha has criticized the state government over its budget and job appointment process. Speaking at a meeting with Bamutia block Congress leaders at the Pradesh Congress Bhavan, Saha said that the government claims to have a tax-free budget but imposes various taxes on the public every year.
He also questioned the government's practice of holding lavish ceremonies to distribute appointment letters to job candidates, saying that this money could be better spent on development projects. Saha pointed out that previous governments had never resorted to such practices and that appointment letters were usually delivered to candidates' homes through the department.
The Congress leader also alleged that the state government is more interested in promoting itself through publicity rather than focusing on the welfare of the people. He emphasized that the government's priorities are misplaced and that the people of the state are suffering as a result.
