Agartala, July 14, 2025 (TIWN): In a strong protest against the recent electricity tariff hike in Tripura, the Pabiachhara Block Congress Committee organized a massive demonstration in Kumarghat town today. The protesters, led by senior Congress leaders, marched through the streets and demonstrated in front of the DGM office of the Electricity Department, demanding immediate withdrawal of the tariff hike.
The Congress leaders also raised several other critical issues, including the need to withdraw smart meters, restore law and order in the state, stop attacks on opposition party workers, and address the rising cases of violence against women and missing persons. The party leaders urged the Chief Minister to take immediate notice of these serious issues.
The protest was attended by several prominent Congress leaders, including former MLA Dibachandra Rangkhal, state leader Tarun Saha, district leaders Samiran Das, Rintu Lal Deb, and Sourav Chakraborty, Block President Asit Deb, and Jugal Malakar, along with other senior party officials. The protesters demanded that the state government take concrete steps to address their grievances and improve the overall situation in the state.
