Agartala, July 13 (TIWN): A BJP worker, Mofiz Miah, has made a heart-wrenching appeal to the Chief Minister of Tripura for financial assistance. Mofiz, a resident of Basantli village under Bishramganj police station, has been bedridden for three years due to injuries sustained in a political clash.
According to Mofiz and his wife, Mithu Begum, the incident occurred during the Dhanpur assembly by-election when he was taken to Dhanpur by Kanu Raj Debbarma, a BJP leader of Sipahijala district. Mofiz was severely injured, and his bike worth Rs 2.5 lakh was set on fire. His mobile phone was also snatched.
Despite repeated appeals to the then BJP Mandal president, Rajkumar Debnath, and the current president, Tapas Das, Mofiz claims to have received no help. His wife, Mithu Begum, works to support the family and pay for Mofiz's treatment.
