According to reports, Riya Debnath, wife of Ranjit Debnath, had come to her parental home in West Jolaibari's 6th ward with her two-year-old daughter last Monday. However, she went missing along with her daughter after that.

 

The family lodged a written complaint with the Jolaibari police outpost on Tuesday, but when they followed up, the police informed them that Riya was currently in Karimganj, Assam. The police suggested that the family go to Karimganj to find her.

 

Disheartened by the police's response, Riya's mother, Pratima Debnath, has now approached the media for help in finding her missing daughter and granddaughter. The family is anxiously waiting for the police to take concrete steps to locate them.
