Agartala, July 8 (TIWN): The 25th National Fish Farmers' Day was celebrated at the Fishery College in Lembucherra today.
The event was marked with a ceremony at the college auditorium, attended by State Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das, Department Director Santosh Das, and College Principal Arun Bhai Patel, among others.
The occasion saw the setting up of various stalls, which were visited by Minister Sudhangshu Das. The stalls showcased various aspects of fisheries and aquaculture, highlighting the importance of the sector in the state's economy.
The National Fish Farmers' Day is celebrated every year to recognize the contributions of fish farmers to the country's food security and economy. The event provided a platform for fish farmers, researchers, and policymakers to come together and discuss issues related to the sector.
