Agartala, July 8 (TIWN): In a significant breakthrough, the Bishalgarh police have apprehended notorious drug peddlers --- Pramathosh Roy and Prasenjit Saha, and seized a substantial quantity of narcotics from his residence in the Rautkhola area on Tuesday night.
Two individuals, Pramathosh Roy and Prasenjit Saha, were arrested with 11 grams of brown sugar, 11 grams of Yaba tablets, and Rs 5,970 in cash. A vehicle and a bike were also recovered from their possession.
The police have registered a case under the NDPS Act at the Bishalgarh police station and have sought a five-day police remand for the accused. According to OC Sanjit Sen, the street value of the seized narcotics is estimated to be around Rs 2.5 lakh.
The successful operation is a significant step in the ongoing efforts to curb the menace of narcotics in the region. The police are likely to interrogate the accused further to uncover the larger network of drug peddlers and suppliers.
