Agartala, July 5 (TIWN): A dispute over the appointment of an Anganwadi worker has led to the closure of the Tulsimura Anganwadi Center in Chhesimayi Gram Panchayat under Bishramganj police station for over 24 days.
The center was locked down by villagers who are unhappy with the Gram Panchayat's decision to appoint Tulshee Debnath as the worker.
The controversy arose because the center is located in Ward No. 4, but Tulshee Debnath is from Ward No. 3. The villagers believe that the appointment should have been made from within their own ward, and they have demanded that a new worker be appointed from Ward No. 4.
The prolonged closure of the center has had a significant impact on the children in the area, who are being deprived of mid-day meals and nutritional support. The villagers are determined to get their demands met, and the situation remains tense.
The community is calling for a swift resolution to the issue, ensuring that the children in the area receive the support they need. It is hoped that the authorities will intervene and find a solution to the dispute, allowing the Anganwadi center to reopen and provide essential services to the children and families in the area.
