Agartala, July 5 (TIWN): In a bold move to draw attention to the alleged influx of Bangladeshi infiltrators into Tripura, the TIPRA Motha, a prominent regional party, has embarked on a padayatra to Delhi. The party members set out on foot from Agartala's North Gate on Saturday, aiming to reach the national capital and voice their concerns.
The TIPRA Motha's protest is rooted in the party's long-standing demand to stop the alleged infiltration, which they claim has been depriving the indigenous people of their rights and forcing them to struggle for their existence. According to David Murasingh, a senior leader of the party, despite repeated deputations and protests, the state government's efforts to address the issue have been woefully inadequate.
The padayatra is a testament to the party's determination to seek justice and protection for the people of Tripura. By taking their message directly to the central government, the TIPRA Motha aims to raise awareness about the issue and garner support from the national leadership to put an end to the alleged infiltration.
