AGARTALA, Dec 14 (TIWN): SUCI protested against the bail of the former Principal of R G Kar College and a police official who was arrested by CBI on charges of active involvement in the rape incident.A sessions court in Sealdah granted bail on Friday to Sandip Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Hospital, and Abhijit Mondal, former officer-in-charge of Tala police station. The bail was granted after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) failed to submit a chargesheet within the mandatory 90-day period.

The case relates to the rape and murder of a junior doctor at the state-run hospital. The doctor's body was found in the hospital's seminar room in Kolkata on August 9.

The CBI, which took over the investigation following directions from the Calcutta High Court, arrested Ghosh and Mondal on September 14. They were accused of tampering with evidence and delaying the filing of the First Information Report (FIR).
