BISHRAMGANJ, Dec 2 (TIWN): To encourage girls in the field of education, the state government is distributing bicycles to the ninth-grade students across the state.
This district-wide bicycle distribution program began on Monday with an inaugural program at Bishramganj School.
Bicycles were distributed to 30 ninth grade students of three schools - Bishramganj XII Grade School, Charilam XII Grade School and Chechharimai XII Grade School.
The program was attended by Sipahijala District Council President Supriya Das Dutta, MLAs Kishore Barman and Bishwajit Kalai, Additional District Magistrate Subrata Majumdar, District Education Officer Malay Bhowmik.
The guests who came to the program encouraged the students so that they could become self-reliant through education.
It has been informed that bicycles will be gradually distributed to about 3,123 girl students from about 158 ??schools across the district.
