AGARTALA, Dec 2 (TIWN): Youth Congress organized a protest in Agartala-Akhaura checkpost demanding the unconditional release of Chinmoy Krishna Das, the Hindu monk, arrested in Bangladesh.
The youth Congress agitators burnt interim government Mahummud Yunus’s effigy on the protest spot.
“If we think from the humanitarian angle, Chinmoy Krishna Das’s arrest has hurt the sentiment of the Hindus. I am also a Muslim. It's not Muslim's practice to hurt other religions’ sentiments. What is happening in Bangladesh is condemnable,” said Manir Hossain, a Youth Congress member.
“The people in Bangladesh have insulted Indian flag which is unacceptable and the culprits must be arrested there. Yunus is the main culprit, who under the mask of good-image is the head of the fundamentalists,” said Hossain.
