AGARTALA, Dec 1 (TIWN): Local people claimed that they busted a beauty parlour racket that was running a drug business behind the screen. Now they have demanded, her eviction from the locality.
Locals from Rajnagar, Joypur, and South Jaynagar held a joint meeting under a local club’s observation and handed over the beauty parlour owner Sejmi Aktar.
Police detained Sejmi Aktar based on local’s complaints.
“We had doubts about her activities but could not collect any evidence against her. Outsiders come with the bike to her home. When we called for a meeting, she behaved roughly with us. Also, we found brown sugar from her home. Later, she was handed over to police,” said a local club member.
The locals demanded, she can not stay in the area and have to vacate her residence.
However, TIWN could not verify the allegations brought against her, as many times in the state young women have been subjected to assault because of the narrow mindset of the people.
