AGARTALA, Nov 25 (TIWN): In a protest against the poor quality of materials used in road maintenance, public blocked the road in Khayerpur, Reshambagan area.

In the demonstration, the agitating people peeled out the road material which looked like someone was removing a facemask.

People said only some oil and soil were used in the road repair.

On being asked, the people who were backing the contractor said that from the government it was ordered to construct the road with oil and soil and that’s why they are doing so.

Due to the road blockade, a massive traffic jam could be witnessed waiting for the blockade to be removed. Transport movement was halted due to the protest.

The road maintenance work was layering almost a mile, covering more than 70 families living in the area.
