AGARTALA, Nov 1 (TIWN): BSF, on a specific information, today carried out an operation at Karbook and apprehended two Rohingyas infiltrators from Karbook bus stand. The operation was carried out successfully by the BSF troops of BOP Bhatiabari under Gomati District. Those two infiltrators were planning to exfiltrate from Bangladesh, they said during the preliminary interrogation. A BSF press statement said this here today.

BSF statement further said that both the apprehended Rohingya migrants are residents  of Rohingya refugee Camp located in Cox Bazar, Bangladesh. Indian currency, mobile and UNHCR card  recovered from their possession.

Moreover, the alert border troops of BSF Tripura in different operations foiled various attempts of trans-border smuggling  along the Indo Bangladesh border and seized 1,600Kg Sugar and other contraband items worth ? 4,76,479/-. The statement said the troop has enhanced the surveillance along the border  to prevent trans border crime and  infiltration .
