AGARTALA, Oct 14 (TIWN): Amid Tripura Cricket Association posts are turning highly competitive but the outcomes are very minimal. The slow growth of Tripura cricket infrastructure once again came out after the Ranji Trophy match had to be canceled because of poor pitch conditions. The exact cause of the situation was not stated by the Association, but the manager Ranjan Datta told the media, that rain happened recently but the field was almost recovered. Then again half-an-hour rain happened recently and it was seen that the upper layer is becoming tight whereas the soil inside was left soft and so it was risky to play on this ground as it would increase the chances of players’ injuries.

While replying to media queries if there was a lack of maintenance that worked behind these pitch conditions, Datta said, the maintenance was done properly.

However, he accepted that it was the first time that no match was held. Earlier, at least a few overs were played.
