AGARTALA, Oct 3 (TIWN): Tribal Welfare Department Bikash Debbarma’s post as a legislator is at high risk as it’s evident either he raised his property massively in last 1 and half years or submitted false financial reports to Election Commission in his 2023 election affidavit. Congress MLA Sudip Barman raised corruption allegations against the Minister in the Assembly and disclosed a document that the Minister has used Tribal Welfare funds to make his boundary wall. Also, the Minister purchased new flats in Tripura’s various places as well as in Delhi. Instead of filing defamation case against Congress MLA Sudip Barman, which he said earlier will do, the Minister has announced to launch a protest tomorrow in Krishnapur constituency, his own constituency.
After the allegation raised against the Minister, he called a press meet and said, all allegations are false as he has belongs to a wealthy family and he personally has many turnouts in his business. He earned over crores. However, in his 2023 election affidavit, he said, he and his wife have zero-income and zero-liability.
Then Congress appealed to the Election Commission to sack the Minister’s MLA post because he faked his document.
Amid all these, the Minister on Thursday declared to protest against opposition party CPI-M and Congress’s allegations against him. The protest will be organized by BJP mandal leaders in his constituency.
