SONAMURA, Oct 2 (TIWN): An on-duty Doctor had to put himself in an oxygen-mask and nobody was there to provide him treatment as he was the only doctor there serving the patients since morning. This scenario was seen in Sonamura primary health care center on Wednesday. Talking to a doctor Dayel Debbarma (who came later after being informed about the situation and was on night duty the previous night) said, he had to rush to the hospital to tackle the situation and again he will be in the hospital for night duty. Dayel Debbarma and Debarun Roy are the two Doctors appointed in the hospital right now.
Patient parties were standing in rows for treatment as no doctor was present initially.
Dayel Debbarma said, it is becoming very difficult for them to continue the service like this. Even after being informed about the situation, no higher official reached the hospital.
Dr. Debbarma requested the government to look into the matter. The public who were there in the hospital also asked the government to provide more doctors in that hospital.
