TELIAMURA, Oct 2 (TIWN): Teliamura Police have taken strict action against club members in extortion changes. Police also sent a report to the DM about the incident.
What significant in this incident is that nobody complained to police about this incident but it was the police team who traced the incident during patrolling and suspected that something wrong was going on nearby.
When asked, a truck driver informed that he was attacked by club members seeking Rs. 500 from them Twichindrai area in Teliamura. Police arrested two persons in this incident.
The club has been identified as Rabindra Sangha. The club members were collecting money from road side, amid government’s objection to such activities.
Police lodged a suo moto case and also victims’ statements were recorded. The victims said, the club members threatened them to kidnap them.
Additional SP Prabir Paul said, as police sent the report to DM, it’s up to the DM if the puja will be permitted or not.
