AGARTALA, February 4 (TIWN): In recent few months RD Minister Naresh Jamatia, even few DMs are under scanner simply because of their puppet like roles , obviously with an attempt to please Chief Minister Manik Sarkar even after the arrest and jail term now being suffered by CM Manik's close aide scamster BDO Bimal Chakraborty. In recent few months state govt has left no stone unturned to compel the grassroot employees under MGNREGA to submit themselves as per the wishes of CPI(M) party leaders but baring one or two instances in most of these cases the rulling party proves to be a complete failure. It is to be mentioned here that ever since the implementation of MGNREGA Act 2005 govt of Tripura has received so many awards from the friendly UPA ledCentre for its proper(?) implementation of MGNREGA. But soon after Narendra Modi led BJP Govt came to power the honours and awards suddeny disappeared on Govt of Tripura.

Govt has failed to repeat the same performance like it did during the 10 years of UPA rule. Rather in 2014 we have seen massive looting in MGNREGA in almost all the blocks in the state. Already CM Manik's most favoured official and DYFI state Secretary Amal Chakraborty's brother BDO Bimal Chakraborty is now in jail and is almost certained to be convicted in the Bishalgar block's massive MGNREGA scam.  However, due to such looting in MGNREGA, the average man days in the scheme during 2014-15 is yet to achieve the target of 40 days.
