AGARTALA, July 6 (TIWN): Tripura Panchayat election that will be deciding fate of the rural Tripura for next five years is approaching. As opposition, Congress is also focussing on the poll preparations. A preliminary meeting was held by Congress leaders in Agartala, Students Health Home in the presence of Congress State President Asish Saha, MLA Sudip Barman and other top Congress leaders.

Talking to media, Sudip Roy Barman said, “As per the tradition threats exist but Congress will fight. We are going to give our candidature wherever we have the strength.”

Congress State President Asish Saha said, “This meeting is just a preparation before the actual field work begins. By sitting here in Agartala, we can’t predict the public mood. Congress will work for the people and to make the Panchayat corruption-free, Congress will fight at its best to clear BJP from the Panchayat areas.”
