AGARTALA, May 21 (TIWN): Rudrasagar Lake that surrounds Neermahal is left in pathetic condition. Tourists are returning as due to water hyacinth plants the water-body has become like a field.
Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Tuesday visited the tourist spot, talked to the officials about it. He has directed the officials to find a solution to the matter immediately.
A the water hyacinth plants have covered most of the Rudrasagara, boats cannot be plied through Rudra Sagar.
Not only tourism industry’s reputation is being spoiled but the local traders, fishermen’s livelihood at crisis.
Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury presided over an important meeting there. After the meeting, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said the administrative officials of various departments to make arrangements to open Niramhal for tourists again by removing the plants from Rudrasagar.
