AGARTALA, March 16 (TIWN): CPI-M heavyweight leaders including former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar appeared before the court on Saturday in link to a case that was lodged during Covid period after a protest staged over ongoing issues in the state.
“We raised public voice and we stood beside the people. Then this decorated case has been designed against us. Court did not say anything. It was only a 5 minutes interaction in the court,” said Manik Sarkar.
Advocate Holibol Debnath said, the case is fabricated and that’s why no witness from the public could be presented. Only the police appeared as witnesses. He said, the next hearing will be in November month.
