AGARTALA, March 10 (TIWN): Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has inaugurated a Sports complex in Udaipur on Sunday which was constructed with the expenditure cost of Rs. 5 crores. Addressing the occasion, CM said, “In today’s time, when the young generation is moving in the wrong direction, sports is the only alternative way to keep the youths far from addiction. That is the reason, why our Govt is trying to improve the sports infrastructure of the state. This year, we have kept over 6,500 crores for the sports sector in budget 2024-25.”
“Our main target is development. Tripura is under a problem due to drug addiction. A large generation has been gripped by addiction. Our Govt keeps a zero-tolerance mindset against drugs but police can not stop the spread of the addiction unless we take initiatives by ourselves,” said CM Dr. Manik Saha.
CM added that sports is a great medium to keep the young generation far from Drug Addiction and that’s why the Tripura Govt is focussing on improving the sports infrastructure.
