AGARTALA, March 9 (TIWN): CPI-M state secretary Jitendra Chowdhury on Saturday claimed, the future of Tipra Motha party will be as same as IPFT after Tipra Motha aligned with BJP.
Chowdhury used the metaphor amid IPFT’s losing popularity among people after joining BJP’s camp. Both IPFT and Tipra Motha demand a separate state from Tripura, now aligned with the BJP Govt.
Jitendra Chowdhury also slammed Tipra Motha party after it aligned with BJP Govt, alleging, Tipra Motha worked to gather anti-BJP votes in its favor and then to extend support to BJP after 2023 assembly poll. Chowdhury said, ‘It was fully planned and now exposed’.
Jitendra Chowdhury has appealed to voters not to fall into any trap and to vote for the INDIA alliance ‘if’ they think BJP should be removed from power.
“An agreement which was signed between Tipra Motha and the BJP Govt neither mentioned Greater Tipraland, nor any constitutional solution. The entire thing since 2023 poll was a staged drama,” said Jitendra Chowdhury.
"Tipra Motha's iconic slogan of NO COMPROMISED is now compromised," he added.
BJP-IPFT Govt recently declared two Tipra Motha MLAs as new cabinet ministers. Tipra Motha withdrew its position as opposition from Tripura Assembly and joined the cabinet under CM Dr. Manik Saha.
